(This post is for 7th and 8th graders in Intermediate and Advanced Band)
We have learned our notes (…mostly), are working hard to polish our ensemble sound, and are ready to go to band festival! Band festival is a yearly event where school bands perform on stage for a panel of adjudicators (judges) and receive feedback on their performance. It can be thought of as our yearly band “test” and provides valuable feedback on how we can continue improving our individual and ensemble musicianship. Band festival is produced by the Central Oregon Music Education Association (COMEA), which is a professional organization of all of our local music teachers. This year the COMEA MS Band Festival will be at Ridgeview High School in Redmond. Please read through all of the details linked below and let me know if you have any questions.
